Not only that but this would allow third party software on PC (like Gameranger) to access the game files and create private public servers for clans or just games (ala SWAT 4 and Battlefield 2 on PC) Heck even RUST has private servers and that game is FAR from dead.

How? This allowed modders to access the ability to host by host have custom made servers and thus FiveM was born.
